After 6 years with the old website, it's time for a new look! At the same time, I am refocusing the services that Family Pearl offers. We still offer genealogy research, family connections, and audio/video recording & conversion services, but are emphasizing presentations and family tree maintenance services. Additionally, we are offering additional technical services, such as assistance with installing family tree software, converting family tree files to alternate formats, and reviewing DNA testing results to identify blood relatives. These new services complement existing offerings, and are a natural extension of them.
So what are some examples of these new services? Say you have a ton of paper files, but don't have your research stored in a family tree. Family Pearl will upload your research to Ancestry.Com or Familysearch.Org, or key it into a version of Family Tree Maker or other software. If on Ancestry, for a monthly fee, Family Pearl will review hints produced and selectively update your file to further your research. What if you want to have your research accessible online AND on your computer? Family Pearl will sync your tree so that you can have up to date research on your computer, smart phone or tablet, and that same up to date research on your computer so you can access it even when you are not connected to the internet. And what do you do with your DNA test results once you receive them? Family Pearl will help you identify blood relatives and reach out to them to gain additional information to help you further your research. Finally, Family Pearl will advise you on security & privacy best practices so that your research is controlled in a manner that you would like.
