The 2021 Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society's (AAHGS) 2021 Virtual Conference is almost here, and the early bird registration deadline has been extended to September 12!
I am once again looking forward to being a presenter. The conference runs from October 13-16, and my presentation will occur on Friday, October 15 at 2:45. I will be presenting on "Syncing Your Online Family Tree To Your Computer". The goal of the presentation is to demystify the process of selecting a genealogy computer program and synchronizing it to your online family tree. That way, if for some reason you no longer have access to your online family tree, you have a complete copy of all of your pictures, documents, etc., on your on computer. If you just download a file from an online genealogy website, such as Ancestry.com, it typically does not include any of the pictures and documents.
The full program agenda can be accessed here, and you can register here. Once again this year, many of the presentations will be previously video recorded, with the presenters present for a live Q&A session at the end. As was the case with the 2020 Virtual Conference, many of the presentations will be available for viewing through the end of the month, so you'll have the opportunity to attend many more sessions that if you had attended in person!
